Viraj is a director and producer known for his inventive and highly stylised approach to filmmaking. He has worked on a variety of film, television and online projects including Raajneeti (2010) and ad campaigns for brands including Pepperfry, nearbuy, Groupon, Vivanta by Taj and Toshiba. Viraj has independently directed and edited fashion films for the country’s leading publications, with a host of stars including Shah Rukh Khan, Virat Kohli, Sonam Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut; but what really sets him apart is his all-round methodology with regard to filmmaking. From script writing and direction to camera operation and editing, his skills encompass the spectrum, with design included too. Entrepreneurial at heart, he is currently spearheading the launch of the Play Sports app — which is set to change the way we play group sports in India and aboard. He enjoys nothing better than to build brands through insightful visual communication and with his passion for cinema and nearly a decade in the field, he remains committed to producing path breaking films for all mediums.

Partner & Producer

Award-winning TimeScapes director Tom Lowe rightly refers to Payal as a “super-producer.” Her never-say-never attitude, combined with an obsessive attention to detail in every aspect of film production, makes her invaluable from prep to production. At home and in her element in any city in the world, Payal is known for consistently delivering seamless shoots in the most unassuming manner. Apart from being a partner at Adapt Studios, her experiences encompass film production and event management in many countries like Italy, Thailand, Sri Lanka, India and the UK. Payal has worked on five feature films including the Amitabh Bachchan-Hema Malini starrer Baghban (2003) and over eighty commercials for Fuze Tea, Vivanta by Taj, Siyaram’s, Orient Fans, Groupon, Maharashtra Tourism and others. PLO currently awaits the release of an IMAX film tentatively titled 1001 Nights, which has been shot across 41 countries and for which she has proudly played line producer for the Indian subcontinent.

Sonali is a compulsive writer. From feeding Mumbai’s appetite for entertainment news with her popular daily column ‘Sonali’s Society’ for MidDay newspaper, she went on to helm the Indian edition of OK! magazine. At 27, she was amongst the youngest magazine editors in the country at the time. Currently contributing to the country’s leading newspapers, blogging for and working on a book, she dreams of writing stories for children someday. Her strong sense of design, experience with print and new media and her ability to streamline processes, helps round off Adapt Studios in all mediums. Family, friends, food and film are her life’s great loves and raiding the fridge at midnight is at the top of her list of guilty pleasures.


Aksshay Mehta is nothing short of a prodigy when it comes to offline editing and handling complex post-production workflows. At just 24, he became one of the most sought after editors in the industry, known for his commitment to create engaging stories in an edgy and contemporary style.

Besides receiving a full scholarship at Whistling Woods Film Institute, and sharpening his cutting knife at Melbourne’s Deakin University, Aksshay was one of an elite few, hand-picked to attend Benetton’s Fabrica Communication Center in Italy, as a fully-funded ‘Artist in Residence’. His work there, to push the boundaries of communication through film, has rounded off an extensive filmography where he has worked with the who’s who of the industry, both in front of the camera and behind it.

Director & Cinematographer

Gabor has an unfettered passion for all aspects of filmmaking. Having graduated from the Hungarian Film & TV School at MAFILM in Budapest, he honed his skills at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles, California; before undertaking work as a war reporter for CNN and other international TV channels. He has assisted with the camera on projects featuring actors including Sean Connery, Angelina Jolie, Dennis Quaid and Kate Beckinsale, besides directing several independent films including Butterflies (2013). With over 20 years of experience, Gabor is an award-winning European director and cinematographer whose passion for the medium remains undiminished.Maserati, Harrods, Chopard and Audi are but a few of the renowned brands that feature on his impressive client list, though Gabor would be elated to add a ‘Bollywood’ film to the roster.

Director & Cinematographer

Shiraz is a director and cinematographer with a formidable reputation for being the preferred choice for FMCG and beauty brands that are looking to put their best ‘face’ forward with cutting-edge commercials. His signature visual style has been perfected over the years and his mastery with treating hair and skin on camera is well-documented. His impressive roster of assignments lists over a hundred commercials for iconic brands including Pepsi, Tropicana, Borges Olive Oil and Hero Honda; besides music videos for artistes as revered as the late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Also the drummer for Pentagram — one of the country’s best-known rock bands — Shiraz has an innate understanding of sound that gives him an extra advantage.

Cinematographer & Director

A storyteller at heart, Murzy’s medium of choice to express the human narrative has been from behind the lens. Having learnt his craft on floor, the cinematographer has about 400 commercials and 8 feature films under his belt.
With a strong technical understanding of the filmmaking process, Murzy has expanded his field of view to Direction now brings his visual genius to ad films and corporate communications at Adapt Studios.

Director & Photographer

Martin is a Canadian photographer and director based out of Mumbai, India. His work is defined by a dramatic sense of lighting, resulting in strong and stylistic portraiture that offers the viewer an often surreal experience. Having made his mark with ad films for Louis Philippe and on projects with some of the best known media houses in the world including Condé Nast Publications, Martin’s acclaim is equally matched by his inspiring skills.

Executive Assistant to the Director & Editor

Rohit plunged head first into the deep end with his very first job. Working at Yash Raj Films for Casting Director Shanoo Sharma was no mean feat. From a fresh-faced BMM graduate, he quickly made the transformation to able assistant — following instruction impeccably, thinking on his feet and planing for all eventualities. These qualities saw him through stints at a well-established ad agency and at an events company, where he serviced brands including Surf Excel, Viacom18 and Godrej Locking Solutions. Learning on the job at Adapt Studios, Rohit has proved to be as competent and creative as he is charming. From handling equipment to editing and even directing, Rohit has developed all-round skills that make him an up-and-coming talent to watch for.

Production team, Sri Lanka

With over 40 years of experience between them, Niroshan and Nishantha are amongst the best production managers in Sri Lanka. They have worked on several international projects, including the German film Die Männer der Emden (2012); and local films like Gamini (2010) and Karma (2012). Unafraid of long hours and seemingly impossible requests, they tackle line production, location scouting, equipment bookings, casting and so on, as our partners in Sri Lanka.
